Record URL: Availability: Find a library where document is available Abstract: In 2006, the Airport Cooperative Research Program (ACRP) established a continuing project, ACRP Project 11-01, “Legal Aspects of Airport Programs,” to provide a means to assemble, study, and evaluate the myriad of legal problems encountered by the nation’s airports. This is a staff digest of the background and status of ACRP Project 11-01. Reports and summaries produced under ACRP Project 11-01 are published in ACRP’s Legal Research Digest series and available on the website: http://www.TRB.org/ACRP. Airport legal research, when conducted through the TRB’s legal studies process, is focused on either collecting primary data that usually are not available elsewhere or analyzing existing literature. During the first 11 years of ACRP Project 11-01, there have been almost 50 topics selected for legal research in broad areas of interest to the airport legal community. Thirty-three ACRP Legal Research Digests have been published to date, on substantive areas such as eminent domain, environmental concerns, leasing, contracting, security, insurance, civil rights, and tort liability. This report provides a brief summary of each of these digests.
