Abstract:

Hazardous materials transportation network (HMTN) management is a crucial part of local government and emergency management department. In order to know the structure features of HMTN, the simulation model is proposed in terms of related definitions and assumptions with three simulation scenarios, including network stability, fragile fraction, and the defense capability. The authors consider a random node fails to analyze the network stability of in the HMTN. It tests the impact of every node in the network, and create a heat map to find the fragile fraction and the strong nodes of HMTN. The defense capability of the network is simulating multiple independent emergency accidents. The simulation and analyzing the results of it are applied to the network of Pengzhou City as study case. Recognizing the structure features of HMTN can help local emergency departments supervise and administrate.
