Abstract: The ever-growing environmental concerns regarding the detrimental effects of ordinary vehicles has led to the increasing use of Electric Vehicles (EVs). Nevertheless, more research in different fields of study like transportation is required to face complications associated with these vehicles. The main purpose of this study is to solve the problem of Electrical Vehicles' traffic assignment considering recharging time as a function of the amount of charge. Existing EVs have limited driving range and the drivers usually have to spend a considerable amount of time on recharging in order to complete a trip. As a result, their corresponding optimum route choice is affected by their recharging program. This paper proposes a labeling algorithm to solve the shortest path problem while considering recharging time as a function of the amount of charge required for completing a path. In addition to the links' numbers, this algorithm provides the optimal recharging program for the shortest path. This algorithm is further utilized to solve EVs' traffic assignment presented as a complimentary equilibrium model. Numerical examples of solving EVs' traffic assignment problem for Sioux Falls and Iran's road networks is presented in this paper demonstraiting the ability of the proposed method to solve the problem for real sized networks in a relatively short time.
