Specific topics addressed in this issue include: the incorporation of vehicle emissions models into the geometric highway design process; the effects of pavement surface roughness and congestion on expected freeway traffic energy consumption; the influence of fuel injection system and engine-timing adjustments on regulated emissions from biodiesel fuels; prediction of carbon monoxide and fine particulate matter concentrations near road intersections; and an environmental and traffic performance analysis of corridors with different types of intersections. Other topics addressed include: vehicle purchase tax and fuel tax impacts on household greenhouse gas emissions; real-time emissions modeling with Environmental Protection Agency MOVES; environmental and infrastructure impacts associated with high-volume hydraulic fracturing operations; vehicle classification inputs for project-level MOVES analysis; vehicle ecospeed control; daily fuel consumption frontiers; and a worldwide harmonized test procedure for light-duty vehicles. In addition, papers in this issue discuss: the integration of truck emissions cost in traffic assignment; real-world speed and acceleration activity envelopes for light-duty vehicles; real-world particle number emissions during reignition events; electric-powered two-wheelers; and the fusion of vehicle weight and activity data for improved vehicle emission modeling.
