FREEWAYS, EXPRESSWAYS, AND ARTERIAL ROUTE SYSTEMS LOCATED WITHIN URBANIZED AREAS HAVE SUCH FAR-REACHING EFFECTS UPON COMMUNITY STRUCTURE THAT AN UNDERSTANDING OF URBAN GROWTH, DEVELOPMENT AND LAND USE PATTERNS ARE A REQUISITE FOR PROPER SITE ALLOCATION.
