The protection of post-World War II residences increasingly is being considered as part of a transportation project’s compliance with the National Historic Preservation Act. This article summarizes a National Cooperative Research Program (NCHRP) report that offers national guidance, a national historic context, and a survey and evaluation methodology for single-family postwar residences.
