Accession Number:

Record Type:

Abstract:

THE TABLES OF VALUES OF STRESSES ARISING IN A THREE-LAYER ELASTIC SYSTEM LOADED OVER A CIRCULAR AREA HAVE BEEN EXTENDED TO COVER A WIDER RANGE OF PARAMETERS. VALUES OF THE VERTICAL STRESSES AT BOTH INTERFACES ARE GIVEN, AND ARE ACCURATE TO WITHIN 1 PERCENT. THE CALCULATIONS WERE PERFORMED ON THE FERRANTI MARK I COMPUTER AT KONINKLIJKE/ SHELL LABORATORIUM, AMSTERDAM. THE WORK FORMS PART OF A PROGRAM FOR THE DEVELOPMENT OF A METHOD FOR THE DESIGN OF FLEXIBLE ROADS. /AUTHOR/
