Abstract:

A CONSOLIDOMETER DESIGNED BY TERZAGHI WAS CONSTRUCTED IN 1926 USING POROUS STONE. IT WAS IMPROVED IN 1927. THE TWO INSTRUMENTS WERE COMPARED FOR SIGNS OF FRICTION. MESSRS. LEHMANN, HENNES, AND BENDEL COMMENT ON THE DIFFERENCES IN THE CONSOLIDOMETERS OR OEDOMETERS THAT THEY ARE USING WITH TERZAGHI'S MODELS.
