Abstract:

A STUDY OF 236 MILES OF UNTREATED GRAVEL ROAD OVER A PERIOD OF THREE YEARS IN INDIANA, INDICATES THAT WITH THEIR MATERIAL AND UNDER THEIR TRAFFIC THE ANNUAL WEAR RESULTING FROM AN AVERAGE TRAFFIC OF ONE VEHICLE PER DAY IS 0.289 CUBIC YARDS.
