Abstract: The authors quantify the key concepts of interdependencies, resiliency and sustainability of complex infrastructure systems with interdependent subsystems. The authors show how interdependencies between subsystems can affect the resiliency and sustainability of the entire system. The authors provide a case study of the complex system for biofuel development and use different dynamic models to demonstrate these concepts.
